Cast by Woerffel, St Petersburg, after the model by Vasily Grachev. Original casting, circa 1877. Raised on a marble plinth with a name plate inscribed, Troika Sleigh Scene. Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev was a Russian sculptor, the main competitor to Eugene Lanceray. He stopped modeling after Lancerays death in 1886. Both of them together made a great input to Russian sculptural art by competing and inspiring each other. Grachev used to cast all his works at Woerffel foundry, St. Petersburg.
