An oil on canvas painting depicting a portrait of a noble lady, after the original painting by Joseph-Desire Court, French, 1797 to 1865 on a colorful background with stylized patterns in a manner of Gustav Klimt, Austrian, 1862 to 1918. Signed lower right: Gustav Klimt. Features a Lefevre Gallery paper label attached to the backside, also stamped: Museum Kunstpalast, Musee D Orsay Paris, Galerie Beyeler Paris. Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. Klimt is noted for his paintings, murals, sketches, and other objets dart. The Kiss, originally titled The Lovers, is a painting by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. Painted in 1908 to 1909, it is considered the key work of the Golden Period in the artists work. A picture made in gold, following the traditions of Byzantine mosaics and iconography, is often referred to as a monumental icon.
