A vintage American Heckers Flour enamel tin advertising sign. The sign is covered with enamel in white, black, and red shades, and inscribed, Heckers Flour Best For Every Purpose. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. The Heckers brand was started in 1842 by two brothers, John and George Hecker, who emigrated from England and built a small mill just north of New York City on the Hudson River.
