An antique Islamic Central Asian tribal silver talisman chain necklace presumably from the Herat, Afghanistan. The necklace, originating from the nomadic tribes of Central Asia, features a large pendant with calligraphic inscriptions and floral designs. On the sides there are cylindrical holders for prayer scrolls or talismans. The rectangular decorations above are also talismans, possibly symbolizing the Koran. Unmarked.
