An original antique English Mortgage document, dated the 24th day of June 1801. A document acknowledging the receipt on the day of the deed from Thomas, Cotgreave and Richard Barker of the sum of one thousand two hundred pounds, whereby the said money was to be paid. Signed by both parties. Stamped, and marked with a wax seal. Two stamps with a crown as proof of payment, under the Stamp Duty Act, which imposed a tax on all paper products legal documents, business records and even playing cards.
