A Japanese enamel over copper plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome enamel image of a bird and a butterfly in blossoming flowers and plants surrounded by medallions depicting floral, foliate scroll, and geometrical ornaments on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll motif on the turquoise ground made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: the first half of the 20th century.
