A fine antique French mantel clock featuring a gilt bronze case decorated with polychrome champleve enamel patterns, topped with an onyx roof and mounted on an onyx and champleve base. With four beveled glass panels one of which is bowed opens to reveal a clock dial. The dial with black Arabic numeral hours and decorated with champleve and openwork gilt bronze floral designs. Comes with a winding key marked Ansonia clock Co. The mechanism is marked: Made in France, 344 411. French Decorative Antiques And Collectibles, Antique Mantel Clocks For Home Decor.
