Lot 0111: RUSSIAN JUDAICA SILVER BESAMIM SPICE BOX

A Russian silver spice box or besamim. Square shape, hemisphere feet. Each edge is flanked by a figurine of a Jewish musician. The lid is topped with a lion figure. Relief Magen David on the front side, Tablets of Covenant on the backside. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers mark are on the bottom. Weight: 119.3 grams. Besamim is a special container for spices and herbs used by the Jewish people on Shabbath and other religious holidays. Collectible Silverware, Judaica Religious Items.
