An Italian Capodimonte hand painted polychrome porcelain figure depicting a pair of seated putti playing flutes. Mounted on a stand, made in a scrollwork design, and adorned with a gilded Greek ornament. Circa: first half of the 20th century. Marked with an ink factory mark, and numbered, 980, on the bottom. Capodimonte porcelain is porcelain created by the Capodimonte porcelain manufactory, which operated in Naples, Italy, between 1743 and 1759. Capodimonte is the most outstanding factory for early Italian porcelain, the Doccia porcelain of Florence being the other main Italian factory. Capodimonte is most famous for its moulded figurines. Giuseppe Cappe is widely known as one of the best Capodimonte porcelain sculptors.
