18th Century antique Indo Persian hand embossed copper and brass plaque portrait of Shuja-ud-Daula, 1732 to 1775. The art image plaque has hand made high quality finely engraved details showing facial features and intricate patterns on clothes and shoes. This plaque depicts Shuja-ud-Daula wearing a Sultan Shah Hat and holding a pistol of ancient Persian Ottoman Empire style as a symbol of power. The border is adorned with beautiful floral arrangements. Framed, with wooden shutters on the reverse. Circa 1755. Shuja-ud-Daula was the Subedars and Nawab of Oudh and the Vizier of Delhi from 5 October 1754 to 26 January 1775. Shuja-ud-Daula was the son of the Mughal Grand Vizier Safdarjung chosen by Ahmad Shah Bahadur. Unlike his father Shuja-ud-Daula was known from an early age for his ability to synthesize his subordinates, this skill would eventually cause him to emerge as the chosen Grand Vizier by Shah Alam II.
