A WWII era Russian volunteer Cossack in the German army winter papakha lamb fur hat. It is made of gray sheepskin with a gray top, gold braid, and a grey lining. marked with a factory mark, inside. The papakha is a mens fur headdress that was prevalent in Russia, among the peoples of the Caucasus and Central Asia, and was often a part of military uniforms.
