The lettering reads Maria Theresia, by the grace of God, empress of the Romans, queen of Hungary and Bohemia. The reverse portrays the coat of arms of Maria Theresia on a double crowned shield divided into four fields representing Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, and Burgau, the crowned inner shield with the coat of arms of Austria, supported by a crowned and nimbate double headed eagle.
