A pre WWII Soviet Russian Sniper Award Badge for Sharp Shooting. The badge is a large elongated five-pointed red star with diverging rays, in the center of which is the hammer and sickle emblem on a white background. On the left side of the sign there is a soldier with a rifle wearing uniform and a Budenovka, to the right of him is a Maxim machine gun. The bottom of the star is framed by a fluttering ribbon with the inscription FOR EXCELLENT SHOOTING. Screwback design, marked to the back: Enamel factory MTH. The badge was established by the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR in 1926. Issued only after two years of military service in the ranks of the Workers and Peasants Red Army.
