The badge is of an oval shape. In the center of the badge is a figure of a Red Army soldier in a helmet, with a rifle at the banner, standing on the top of the Zaozernaya hill and throwing a grenade with his right hand. The red enamel banner has a five-pointed star at the top of the badge. The badge ends with the Cyrillic inscription Khasan in relief, a red enamel ribbon with a gold outline with the date 6.VIII -1938 on it. The sides of the sign are framed with oak leaves on the left side and laurel leaves on the right side.
