Lot 0438: RUSSIAN IMPERIAL URAL COSSACK TROOPS OFFICERS BADGE

41 reviews

A Russian Imperial officers badge of the Ural Cossack Troops. At its core is the double headed eagle, an emblem of the Russian Empire. The eagle holds an atamans saber in its talons, representing leadership within the Cossack Troops. The eagles breast bears the distinctive coat of arms of the army, depicting two crossed sturgeons on the blue field and a galloping white rider on the red field. The eagles wings display blue shields with monograms: Fyodor Ioannovich and the date 1591"on the left, and Alexander III and the date 1891 on the right. The badge is crowned with an imperial crown, further underlining the Troops connection to the Russian monarchy, with a St. Georges ribbon descending from underneath, held in the beaks of the eagle. With a screw back construction and original nut. Russian Badges and Military Memorabilia For Collectors.
