Anton Graff, Count was a German painter of Swiss origin, one of the most popular and active portrait painters in Germany in the second half of the 18th century. Among his famous subjects were Friedrich Schiller, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Heinrich von Kleist, Frederick the Great, Friederike Sophie Seyler, Johann Gottfried Herder, Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, Moses Mendelssohn and Christian Felix Weibe. His pupils included Emma Korner, Philipp Otto Runge and Karl Ludwig Kaaz. One of a kind artwork.
