A Russian 88 Silver egg case made in the Imperial design. The case is separated into two fastened halves. The exterior of the case is richly engraved with foliage, scrollwork, ribbon, and garland patterns, images of Imperial double headed eagles, and a pair of Sphinxes, covered with Guilloche enamel in a Royal blue shade, and an overlay depicting an Imperial monogram of Nicholas The Second. The ware is encrusted with Ruby stones, on the top and on the bottom. Marked with a standard Silver hallmark, a makers mark. Total weight: 235 g.
