An antique English ceramic vase by Bretby Art Pottery. Ca. 1910s to 1920s. Ligna Ware, a series of ceramic pieces imitating antique wood and bronze. Cone shape, relief wood texture, decorative side handles, applied grape leaf, dragonfy, bee figures on the both sides of the piece. Hand-painted, glazed. Embossed marks Bretby, 1475E, England, Rd 422572 are on the bottom. Bretby Art Pottery was a studio founded by Henry Tooth and William Ault in Derbyshire, England, active from 1883 to 1996.
