A Japanese Imari porcelain bowl. Late Edo era, ca. 1850s. White dish with hand-painted cobalt blue decor, floral ornaments to the exterior and a tiger in bamboo thickets to the interior. Antiques shop label on the bottom. Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Japanese export porcelain from the Arita region in the 17-18th centuries.
