Jan Dobkowski, Polish, born 1942, oil painting on canvas, Assault, 1971, 1972. Signed, titled in Polish, Napastliwa, dated, on the backside. Jan Dobkowski is a contemporary Polish artist. Jan Dobkowski studied in the years 1962 to 1968 at the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of prof. Juliusz Studnicki and Jan Cybis. While still in college, in 1966, he created an artistic collaboration in which his partner was Jerzy Jurry Zielinski. Their first joint exhibition entitled Neo Neo Neo took place in Warsaw in 1967. The events of 1980-1981, especially the introduction of martial law, brought about a marked change in the mood and the pronunciation of his work. Monochromatic, dark canvases meant then the thin, flaccid lines of the drawing. The most common motifs were patriotic and religious symbols, supplemented with titles referring to the realities of time. Another radical change occurred around 1990. The symbolic harbinger of the new period has become a huge, joyful, exploding with a wealth of colors, shapes and motion picture. One of a kind artwork. Contemporary European Fine Art And Wall Decor Collectibles.
