Angelo Cuglierero, Italian, 1850 to 1903, a finely modeled cast bronze figure of the Nymph Echo. The surface is covered with a deep brown patina. Signed to the base: A. Cuglierero. Circa: 19th century. Angelo Cuglierero was a student of Vincenzo Vela and Mazzucchetti, he studied in Turin at the Accademia Albertina, in Milan and then in Rome from 1870. He sent the marble group Pompeian Idyll to the Vienna Exhibition in 1872, where it was later purchased. A member of the Artists Club since 1873, in 1876 he entered the Albertina Academy as a teacher of sculpture, assistant to Odoardo Tabacchi. Many of his funerary works, executed for important 19th-century Turin families, are found in Turins monumental cemetery.
