Le Roi de Rome, King of Rome, was the title of Napoleon-Francois-Charles-Joseph Bonaparte, 1811 to 1832, the first legitimate son of the emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. His mother was Napoleons second wife, Marie-Louise of Habsburg-Lorraine, daughter of the Emperor of Austria. Although he never actually ruled France, Napoleon-Francois was briefly the titular Emperor of the French as Napoleon II in 1815.
