An antique mid-19th century Russian Orthodox Palekh school icon representing Archangel Michael and Guardian angel with six saints and the blessing figure of Jesus Christ. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Each character is named in Church Slavonic. The saints include Alexander Nevsky, Prophet Elijah, Saint Paul, Saint Basil, Mother of God, and Martyr Terenty. Dated 1849 on the backside.
