George Russin, American, 1910 to 2010, an oil on masonite board painting Masquerade, depicting a clown on a colorful abstract background. Signed by the artist lower left, titled on verso. Framed. George Russin was an American artist who attended the High School of Music and Art to pursue both fields of study. There, he was awarded the St. Gaudens Medal for Art plus a scholarship to Pratt Institute. He graduated from Pratt, receiving the Bronze Medal for achievement: later he attended the Art Students League. The Little Studio has presented several shows of his work in New York, Boston, and Beverly Hills; recently La Napoule Art Foundation of France purchased two of his paintings for their collection.
