A rare and highly collectible Russian icon showing the Mother of God Seeker of the Lost, painted in tempera on gesso on wood panel with gilded background and halo. The icon is distinguished by an unusual interpretation of the image. The Mother of God and Jesus are depicted on a balcony or terrace with a red balustrade, in the background there is a beautiful landscape with a pond and three swimming swans.
