An antique Chinese porcelain vase. Late Qing period, before 1912. Baluster shape with decorative handles. The white piece is richly hand-painted with blue floral ornaments, elephant heads garnish the handles. In Chinese Buddhism, the elephant was identified as the vehicle of Samantabhadra, the Buddhist deity associated with religious practice and mediation.
