Two vintage Russian Mstera lacquer wooden trinket boxes with hinged lids. The rectangular box, inscribed Ruland and the Head, features a captivating scene from Pushkins epic poem Ruslan and Lyudmila, showcasing a moment of adventure from this beloved Russian literary work. The other box depicts the iconic Golden Gates, a historic and architectural landmark in Russia. It is signed by the artist Yartsev from Kholuy in the Ivanovo Oblast region, and is a testament to the skill and talent of Russian lacquerware artists.
