Utagawa Hiroshige, Japanese, 1797 to 1858, antique ukiyo e color woodblock print on paper, Toeizan Temple at Ueno, from the series Famous Places in Edo, depicting a spring view of cherry trees in full bloom at Ueno in Edo. Visitors stroll about the grounds, climbing the low steps to Toeizan Temple at left. The structure beautifully frames a view of the park, with cherry trees lining the walkways, interspersed with towering pine trees. Circa: 1835 to 1845.
