A pair of large high quality Japanese enamel over brass vases made in the manner of Namikawa Yasuyuki, 1845 to 1927. The sphere shaped vases are covered with polychrome enamel medallions depicting sparrows in blossoming flowers, and Phoenix birds surrounded by floral, foliage, Phoenix bird, and scrollwork patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The neck is decorated with polychrome enamel floral and foliage motifs made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: early 20th century.
