An antique Japanese inro compact case. Taisho era, 1912 to 1926. A six-part brown lucite compact case with hinged lid and mirror inside. The piece is garnished with a green silk tassel and has a suspension cord. Minimalist Art Deco design. The item was presumably made for export. Inro is a traditional Japanese case for holding small objects, suspended from the obi sash worn around the waist when wearing a kimono.
