An Ancient Chinese carved marble stone sculpture representing the head of Guanyin, a Chinese Bodhisattva associated with compassion. Era of Northern and Southern dynasties, ca. 5th century AD. Crowned head with elongated earlobes. Seems that originally had some polychrome painting, now completely faded out. The piece is mounted on a pedestal.
