Symonds, Surveyor of the Navy, by His Obedient and Humble Servants, Ackerman and Co; published by Ackerman and Company, 1875; signed in the plate, H. Papprill Sculpt, lower right, titled and inscribed in the plate, lower to the center. The second: This View of H. M. Steam Frigate Geyser, when off Mt. Edgecombe, Is with his permission, dedicated to Sir John Barrow. Bart. Secretary of the; published by Ackerman and Company, 1856; signed in the plate, C. Hunt Sculpt, lower right, titled and inscribed in the plate, lower to the center. William Adolphus Knell was a successful British maritime painter of the 19th century. Henry A. Papprill, 1816 to 1903, was a British engraver. Noted as an aquatint engraver from 1840. His plates were published from 1840 till 1883 mainly by Ackermann of the Strand. Both are framed.
