Lot 0056: RUSSIAN ARMENIAN OIL PAINTING BY MINAS AVETISIAN

41 reviews

Minas Avetisian, Armenian, 1928 to 1975, oil painting on canvas depicting a rural village scene, 1961. Additionally signed, titled, dated, and inscribed, Leningrad, on the backside. Framed. Minas Avetisian is known for Modernist, abstract figure and genre painting. Brightness and dramatic passion of color playing of Minas is dictated by the nature of Armenia, cliffs, singed with bright rays of sun, which seem to represent mysterious eternity. Following the national traditions in painting, using the means of expression found in ancient miniatures and the work experience of famous artists, however, Minas never turned to blind copies. In his works he expressed the reality by his own perception and interpretation of life. Armenian Genre Scenes, Cityscapes, Paintings, Wall Art, and Collectibles. One of a kind artwork.
