George Paul Hector was born Feb. 7, 1938 in Petite Riviere, Haiti. Hector joined the Centre dArt in 1952 teaching and also studied with L.Poisson. He was a poet, a journalist and an artist. Throughout his life, he was active in forming various artistic and writing groups including Koumbit studio in 1968. He became the first general secretary of the National Association of Haitian Artists, and he was founder editor of Courier des Arts. In 1979 he created the group Third Generation, devoted to arts and crafts, painting and literature. Hector has exhibited internationally in many places, including Senegal, Jamica, Puerto Rico, the U.S. and Dominican Republic. One of a kind artwork.
