Artur Hoffmann, German, 1874 to 1960, bronze sculpture, Laplander Riding a Deer. Mounted on a rectangular shaped base. Signed, Artur Hoffman, on the base. Arthur Hoffman was a German sculptor who studied under Gerhard Janensch at the Berlin Academy until 1903. His bronze and wooden sculptures were exhibited from 1900 to 1920 at the annual Great Berlin Art Exhibition and received the Grand State Prize in 1903. His most well known commissioned works include the Essen Relief with the representation of Krupp steelmaking.
