An antique hand colored etching on paper, Birds Eye View, Long View of London looking over Southwark to the North, by Matthaus Merian, German, 1621 to 1687, the elder from Gottfried and Merians Neuwe Archontologia Cosmica, Frankfurt, 1638. It is based on earlier views of London published by J. C. Visscher in 1616 and the 1600 engraving Civitas Londini by John Norden. Lettered with title along top between the arms of the King and of the City of London; with key to places in view numbered from 1 to 43, and other identifications within the image. Framed.
