An antique Sino Tibetan bronze sculpture of Ucchusma, a Vidyaraja in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism featuring a cast figure from the Qing Dynasty China, for export. The piece has a dark gilt finish and the background halo can be removed. The sculpture has rich details and wear commensurate with age. Circa the very early 20 century. Ucchusma is known by various names in Chinese and Japanese Buddhism, which developed due to controversy surrounding the negative associations with impurities involving some of his epithets. The Ucchusma Vajrapala Sutra asserts that the Ucchusma Vajra is actually the Vajra manifestation of Shakyamuni Buddha. Antique Asian Oriental Bronze Religious Sculptures and Collectibles.
