An antique Japanese Imperial early Meiji era cast bronze Baby Buddha sculpture in a gesture and mudra pointing toward heaven and earth. Features a rare and unusual piece taken from previous historical models from the Chinese Ming Dynasty infant Buddha. High quality, deep casting with fine serene face, robe and details. Circa the 1870s. Mudra is a Sanskrit word meaning a symbolic hand gesture that has the power of producing joy and happiness. The position of hands influences our physical, emotional and spiritual energy.
