Marked with an impressed mark of Grachev and foundry mark Fabr. C. F. Woerfell Bronze St.Petersburg, on the base. Vasily Yakovlevich Grachev, 1831 to 1905, was a Russian sculptor, the main competitor to Eugene Lanceray. He stopped modeling after Lancerays death in 1886. Both of them together made a great input to Russian sculptural art by competing and inspiring each other. Grachev used to cast all his works at Woerffel foundry, St. Petersburg.
