A fine Russian letter opener featuring the natural green nephrite jade blade. The handle is gilded silver, covered with a blue guilloche enamel. It is also decorated with the overlay depicting the initials of Nicholas II, 1868-1918, emperor of Russia, and a laurel crown. The handle is topped with a gilt silver figurine of the imperial double-headed eagle. The 88 silver standard hallmark and the makers mark are on the handle close to the blade.
