On the white border is an inscription in Russian: "4 spools 21 proportion of pure silver". The reverse depicts the imperial crown, a wreath of laurel and oak leaves, and the inscription "Ruble Coin / 1844". On the reverse, added mounts allow the coin to be used as a pendant.
