Lot 0562: GERMAN WWII TENO DAGGER BY EICKHORN SOLINGEN

A World War II Nazi German TeNo enlisted mans hewer or dagger. The dagger features an off white wooden grip. Completed with a black leather scabbard. The scabbard fittings, pommel and crossguard are nickel plated. The guard is decorated with an eagle with swastika superimposed with a TeNo emblem. A relief gear wheel garnishes the pommel. TeNo, short for Technische Nothilfe or Technical Help in Need, was a German organisation of the Freikorps or Free Corps with the stated purpose to protect and maintain vital and strategic facilities. Marked with a Ges Gesch Nazi eagle swastika insignia hallmark, and an Eickhorn Solingern hallmark with a squirrel logo, on a ricasso.
