Lot 0437: GERMAN WWII BATTLE FOR STALINGRAD CIGARETTE CASE

A World War II German stainless steel cigarette case. The front cover is decorated with a relief coat of arms which presents the engraved images of the Iron Cross, a Reichsadler Mazi eagle holding a swastika insignia, inscribed, Stalingrad, to the center, dated 1942 to 1943, upper to the center. The holder inside the case is marked, SS runes, RZM WaA142, marks. The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle on the Eastern Front of World War II which took place in Southern Russia from August 1942 to February 1943. It was the deadliest battle of the Second World War and is one of the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare.
