A hand crafted Egyptian Ankh cross or key of life amulet. This ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol is used in Egyptian art and writing to represent the word for "life" and, by extension, as a symbol of life itself. The amulet is set with three turquoise glazed scarab beetles and has a relief image of an Egyptian god, possibly Khepri, a scarab-faced god in ancient Egyptian religion who represents the rising or morning sun. By extension, he can also represent creation and the renewal of life. The amulet is raised on a black marble base. Circa the early 20th century. Religious And Spiritual Symbols, Oriental Collectibles, Archaeological Pieces And Souvenirs For Home Decor.
