Lot 0266: SCHEIBE ALSBACH NAPOLEON AND HORSE PORCELAIN FIGURE

A German Scheibe Alsbach polychrome painted porcelain figure depicting Napoleon with Marengo horse before the battle. The figurine is adorned with gilt accents and depicting French Emperor Napoleon I Bonaparte, 1769 to 1821, a great commander and statesman in a moment of reflection. He is wearing a soldiers overcoat and the famous two cornered hat with a republican rosette standing near one of his most famous horses, light grey Arab Marengo. This stallion took part in the battles of Austerlitz 1805, Jena 1806 and Wagram 1809. Mounted on a grassy base. Marked with a traditional blue ink hallmark, an impressed stamp, on the backside, and numbered 10704, under the base. Circa: 1950s to 1960s.
