The dish is adorned with printed and painted patterns depicting blossoming flowers and trees The ware features scalloped rims, and a pair of figural handles made in a scrollwork design, and decorated with openwork accents. Unmarked. Circa: early 19th century. The partnership of Thomas and John Carey ran the Anchor Pottery at Lane End, Staffordshire 1823 to 42. One of their trade marks was Saxon Stone China, and the attribution to Carey hinges on the abbreviated Saxon China mark this piece bears.
