Sergey Kovalenko is a contemporary Ukrainian artist who works and kept the tradition of Ukrainian painting. Was born in 1980 in Konotop. Ukraine. In 2006 he graduated from State Pedagogical University, Graphic department. In 2011 he graduated Kharkiv Academy of Arts and Design with the highest grade and then Sergey started to teach in this academy in the painting department. His Diploma work was the best painting of 2010 in the Academy and now this painting is in the main hall of the painting department as a perfect example of multifigured genre painting. But Sergey is also known as a master of plein air sketches. His landscapes of Ukrainian places like Carpatia and Crimea are painted boldly with light brushwork and always have good composition. The talented young artist has participated in numerous student Academy exhibitions including one held at the Kharkiv Museum of Art. Kovalenkos paintings are in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Croatia, England, China, and the United States. One of a kind artwork.
