The exterior of the egg is adorned with polychrome scrollwork and foliage motifs, and images of an Imperial double headed eagle and coats of arms made in the Cloisonne technique. The ware is encrusted with Ruby stones. A gold wash interior. Mounted on three figural legs. The legs are made in a shape of a hoof, engraved with detailed patterns.
