Utagawa Kunisada, Japanese, 1786 to 1865, also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III, woodblock print on paper depicting various scenes in a courtyard. Each is inscribed with Calligraphic texts in the print upper and lower to the center. Circa: 1850s to 1860s. Several are stamped in the print. Utagawa Kunisada was a Japanese ukiyo e artist. He is considered the most popular, prolific, and commercially successful designer of ukiyo e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan.
