A very high quality Japanese, Meiji era, enamel vase. The vase has an amphora shaped body and a short fluted neck. The ware is enameled with a polychrome image depicting birds and Japanese Black Pine trees made in the Cloisonne technique with gilded accents. The neck is adorned with floral, foliage, and scrollwork ornaments made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
